history

The estate was build in 1938 and has had various occupants. In the fifties the property was bought by the United Kulmbacher Sockfactory. A successful production line was set up here with a yearly output of over half a million pairs of gentlemen's socks. many women from the nearby village of Kerpen have worked here and many hold precious memories from those days. In the late the eighties, the production of socks was no longer economically viable and the property was rented out to a charity organization called Caritas. It housed refugees for some time and then fell out of use until we bought it in 2008. Please visit our museum to get a complete picture of the estate history.
